Austin consistently comes in at the top of the list for most pet-friendly cities in America, ranking number one in two categories, dog-friendly restaurants per capita and percentage of pet-friendly hotels. They also host some pretty cool, dog-friendly events! Here are some of our favorites.

Best Dog-Friendly Events in Austin

Austin could legit be number one for dog-friendly events, with these amazing opportunities to enjoy blues, baseball and beer with Bowser! 

1. Blues on the Green

Blues on the Green (pictured above) is Austin’s favorite summer tradition! Be a part of the annual FREE concert series and join ACL Radio at Zilker Park to catch performances from your favorite artists. Grab your blankets, sunscreen and four-legged friends for an evening of music and fun, presented by H-E-B to benefit the Austin Parks Foundation!

2. Day of the Dog: Run, Walk or Jog

To celebrate International Dog Day on August 24, 2024 and support Freedom Service Dogs of America,  join the eighth annual Day of the Dog: Run, Walk or Jog 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2 marathon! Moon Joggers invites you to complete your chosen distance anytime in August or September for, or with, your favorite four-legged friend. Plus, 15% of every registration will be donated to Freedom Service Dogs of America.

3. Round Rock Bark in the Park

Fans are invited to bring their furry friends to Dell Diamond for Bark in the Park, while also enjoying discounted domestic draft and canned beers to celebrate Thirsty Thursday!

Dogs are welcome with their owners in the air-conditioned Bullpen Bar along the concourse in center field and the outfield lawn area.

Enjoy $3, 12-oz domestic cans only available at the Chill Out Walk-In Cooler; $6, 24-oz domestic drafts; and $9, 24-oz craft drafts.

4. Dog-Friendly Yoga (Doga)

Join this online DOGA event, where you can practice yoga with your furry friend!

This unique class combines the benefits of yoga and spending quality time with your dog. Whether you’re a yoga enthusiast, dog lover or both, this event is perfect for you.

No prior yoga experience is required, so grab your mat and get ready to stretch and relax together with your dog (or dogs). A dogi, er yogi, will guide you through a series of yoga poses that incorporate your four-legged companion.

5. The Empire Barks Back Party

On May 4th (May the fourth be with you), join the folks at Brewtorium Brewery & Kitchen for the annual Barks for Beers Fundraiser: The Empire Barks Back Party!

Kick things off with themed food and drinks then show of your Star Wars themed costumes for the Em-PAW-rial March Dog Parade & Costume Contest.

Divine Canines will be on site with their therapy dogs plus pawesome raffle prizes, and rounding out the day, is the Austin Flea Market with vendors specializing in items for pups and their people.

Be sure to buy your Barks for Beers Pawsport and commemorative pint glass for $30 + tax; good for 30 pours at 30 breweries (including Brewtorium) throughout the month of May!
